    Robert Half is excited to be working with a rising mining services organisation, who are actively seeking a dedicated financial accountant to join their team.

    This is the perfect opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in a mid tier audit firm with a solid foundation in financial reporting within a commercial environment.

    With an influx of new projects in the upcoming year, this role has the potential to progress into a permanent position following the initial 6-month contract.

    Applications are open for those competent in technical financial accounting starting in mid January 2025.

    The Role:

    As a direct report to the Financial Controller, the financial accountant will undertake the following responsibilities:

    • Prepare and manage financial statements conforming to Australian Accounting Standards for accurate and prompt reporting.
    • Manage general ledgers, including month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
    • Carry out taxation duties, prepare and lodge BAS/IAS, and ensure tax compliance per Australian tax legislation.
    • Facilitate audits by interfacing with external auditors and maintaining adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
    • Work with other stakeholders to assist with budgeting and forecasting through preparing financial forecasts, analysing performance, and providing insights to management.

    The Requirements:

    • CA / CPA Qualified
    • Ideally 1+ years commercial experience post leaving Mid-tier firm
    • Experience in preparing financial statements, tax filings, and handling audits.
    • Proficient in Australian accounting standards and taxation laws.
    • Solid understanding of large ERP's
    • Strong Excel skills
